Frank

Carol and I from time to time decide it is time for a party. When we do we try to make it fun for everyone involved. Last fall we had a wiener roast and had a band come out and play. The band was Frank F. Sidney's Western Bandit Volunteers. They are a local group who play bluegrass. Since the party last fall was in October the band had to suffer a bit as the sun set and the weather cooled off. We promised them that we would have a summer party and they could enjoy some warmer weather. As it turned out the weather was perfect. It was in the low 80's without a cloud in the sky. The folks  attending brought a dish to pass and we provided the beer, chips, hot dogs and buns.

This fine looking bunch of fellas is Frank. There is one young lady named Lacy who is also a member of the band. Saturday night Lacy was at Cordova racing cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JE-q2fMujM&feature=player_detailpage

The link provided above is to Frank's youtube video of one of their original tunes called BSNF'n. It is a song about the trials and tribulations of living in a railroad town. The other thing I think it does is give you a good idea about what a talented and fun bunch these guys are.

We have a nice pole building so it seems a crime not to have a party or two each year to make use of it. If we don't then it is just a spot to park my tractor. The young fella in the foreground of the picture is Nate Hawk. He has been my summer help the last few years. His 21 birthday is coming up on the 21st of July.

The couple in the foreground of this picture are Jim and Mary Smith the owners of Something's Brewn the local homebrew supply store. Jim is a certified beer judge and one of the best homebrewers in the area.

Carol is visiting with Deb Nott a friend she has known since high school. It is nice when you can sit down with old friends and relas.

Some of the folks attending listening to Frank.

Mike says that taking low light pictures is an adventure and I decided to give it a try. Someone brought hula hoops that lighted and the kids were spinning them. I have no talent for that but did think their efforts made for an interesting picture. We think it is important for everyone to participate in our parties so while there is beer we don't expect folks to get drunk and act stupid. The kids do a good job of ensuring everyone behaves.
Another late night picture attempt. I still have plenty to learn.

Long shutter exposures and movement do not go together. It was the best of a bad bunch. If you look closely at the little gal in the front center she is holding a microphone and doing a great rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Our hope was that everyone would have a good time and be able to forget about their worries for a least a little while. I think it might have worked out that way.
