More from the SCAD Sand Art Festival. A quick word on conditions that day. It was overcast and a bit cool with periods of light showers. The rain raises hell with the delicate surfaces of these works of art. In addition to that the cool weather has extended the season for the sand gnats. They are tiny bastards with a painful bite especially for their size. The students and observers were being eaten alive. On the positive side for viewers you could keep moving which tends to result in less bites. The students were trapped with their work.
I really thought the creators of this one did a great job.
This is the Walrus. Once again a very nicely done bit of art.
The gorilla was also nicely done. The facial expression is priceless. He or she looks thrilled to be at the beach.
More sand art tomorrow.
