Sand Art

Today was the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) sand art competition and show at Tybee Island  beach. Since the event was only a quarter mile or so from the house we had to go. The pictures will not be on the blog today and it will take several days to share all the great sculptures with you. I have to take some time and get the photos organized. We initially went over about noon. The competition began at around 10 am. We took some pictures as the works began to take their rough shape. We went back about an hour later to photograph progress and again about 4 pm after the judging to photograph the final product. Since these were done by students their is quite a variety of talent and effort. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed seeing them created live. The pictures I will share today were of a family enjoying a day at the beach. Well I hope enjoying. The little boy seems less than thrilled about how this is going. He must have asked that this be done but seems unhappy with how it is working out.
